inaugurated the Shutter Manufacturing Factory on 27th September 1952
 Tungabhadra
Steel Products Limited was established in
the year 1960, with equal equity participation of Govts. of Mysore
and Andhra Pradesh.It is a successor to Work shops & Machinery
Division(1948) of Tungabhadra Project, which was set up with an
idea to undertake manufacture of Gates & Hoists required for
spillways, Sluices & Canal Gates of Tungabhadra Dam.

 I n the year 1967 the Govt. of India invested
79 % of its shares and became a major shareholder, bringing the
Company under the administrative control of Ministry of Heavy
Industry, Government of India. With the formation of holding company,
M/s. BHARAT YANTRA NIGAM LTD., in the year 1987,a
single source multi resource group,TSP became its subsidiary.

TSP has the privilege of serving the core sectors of Hydro-Power
Generation and Irrigation in India and abroad continuously and
effectively for more than 46 years now having already
supplied and erected 2,50,000 Tons of Hydro-Mechanical
equipments in 250 Hydel & Irrigation Projects so far.
Today the company is poised to supply products on turn- key basis
meeting National and International standards with requirements
of third party inspection like BVIS, Lloyds etc.

Alliances or Collaborations :
TSP had technical collaboration with M/s. Neyrpics ,
France who are reputed in the field of design and manufacture
of Hydro-Mechanical Equipment. This collaboration lasted for
a period of 7 years in the first instance (1962-69) and was
further extended for a period of 5 years i.e. up to 1974

It gives great pleasure to put on record that
M/s TSPL have done a great job of commissioning the
various gates required for undertaking the Final Lake
Tap Blast of teh KHEP-Stage 4 Project, Which was conducted
satisfactory on the 13th March 1999. The team of Managers,
Engineers, Fitters, Electricians, Foremen and other
supplementary staff both at site and Head Office have
taken immense pains and extreme care to achieve this
praiseworthy target. All the gates have been made sufficiently
water-tight and the leakages through gates are brought
to bare minimum and this achievement deserves due appreciation
from this office.
Moreover, the 2 gates downstream of the Koyna Stage-4
Powerhouse, viz. Draft-Tube gate and Tail Race Channel
gate have also been made satisfactorily water tight
and calls for due praise from this office. It would
not be out of context to mention here that the department
has successfully conducted the Mechanical Spinning of
the Turbine Unit No. 4 with the help of these two gates
on the 31st March 1999 .
Though, at times there were certain moments of extreme
tension and apprehension regarding whether the works
on various essential gates will be done on time for
successful commissioning of KJEP Stage-4, ultimately,
it was seen that M/s TSPL have risen to the occasion
and executed all the works very satisfactorily and on
time. This office is very happy on the achievement and
now expects that the works on the balance two gates
will also be done with a similar zeal and care.
This office congratulate M/s TSPL on this achievement
and wishes that they experience success in all their
future projects.
